Poker & Me

The reason of my absence the last weeks is simple but complex, it's Poker. After a few months of practicing and reading a bunch of books (what has improved my English a bit, 'cause the best poker-literature is obviously in English), I determined I can earn a lot of money with it. In the past I estimated my pokerskill in the upper area of an well-trained amateur, but it wasn't! I still play lower limits, and only a few live-tournaments, but overall I win (much) more money then I loose. And that is the goal of a poker-player. Now I could talk/write a lot about the different aspects of the game, bankroll-management and self-control or other psychological aspects of poker, but I only would bore you. There are about 1 Billion poker-Blogs out there and I won't queue this blog in that section. Never! In conclusion: I won't write that much in my blog like I did before, simply because I'll have not that time in future to do this. And I never wanted to write one of these boring blogs like "This morning I drank 2 cups of coffee…etc."

That wont whether be useful to read nor to write, it would be just another part of that web-spam that wont agree with my view of life. In the next months I will have not that much time, because I will work quite hard and when I will not work at my job, I will work on me to get a better player. Me and my little familiy will emigrate to a foreign country like New Zealand or Canada in the next years, we have some interesting and nice connections in a few countys around the world. My wife and me –even my 4-year-old daughter- came to the conclusion, that Germany is not a country to life in, especially to develop yourself in a free and righteous environment. So we have to make some money to live our dream in the near future. We WILL NOT dream for our entire life and just work, work, work like our parents, we want to show our daughter a different view on this wonderful planet, we want to show her the diversity of life in all of its forms.

So sorry I had to prioritize. At the moment I win between 5 and 100 Dollar per day, an average of ca. 50$ an evening, but I hope I will be ready for higher limits in the next months. I love this game, not only to because I make money with it, no, it teaches you so many things about life, not only about other people and their behavior, the game shows you A LOT about yourself. I think I will become a passably good player, for example because I can blind out the "money-aspect" in poker when I play. Of course, I get mad when I loose a big potm, but only after the game. During the game it is easy for me to blind that out and imagine, we only play with this little plastic chips, because I never worried about money that much, although I never had much of it in my life, in fact I grew up quite poor.
